Comics #2

The Joes are in a complex battle in Alaska and have ambushed a Cobra column of tanks. The Cobra's returned fire and destroyed all of the Joe team's heavy hardware causing many injuries. The Joe team is now pinned down by a small force as the main body of the Cobra column moves on to its next objective, oil pipeline pumping station #1.
New Joe member Wild Bill brings in reinforcements and will help evacuate the injured Joes. As Doc, Snow Job and Gung-Ho unload supplies; the injured Steeler, Breaker, Short Fuse, and Grand Slam are loaded into the helicopter. As Wild Bill takes off to the Joe base camp, Hawk leads Snake-Eyes, Rock 'n' Roll, Gung-Ho, Snow Job and Doc on a mission catch up with the remainder of the Cobra column at the pumping station #1.
In Springfield, Cobra Commander has dispatched his new specialist, actually a Cobra field general, to lead the troops in gaining plutonium from a nuclear plant in Alaska. This specialist is actually Destro, although his name isn't given, nor is his head ever shown. As Cobra Commander introduces the specialist to the Baroness her response is We've already met, much to his surprise.
The Joe team arrives at pumping station #1. The main part of the Cobra column, now lead by the Specialist, has moved off toward their primary objective, a nuclear power plant. A small group of Cobras have been left behind to load plague toxin canisters. These canisters are to be loaded into the oil pipeline that is connected to pumping station #1. Hawk leads the assault on the pumping station, during the attack they rupture several of the plague toxin canisters, causing them all to be infected and giving them only six hours left to live, unless they get the antidote from the specialist.
So Snow Job, Doc and Snake-Eyes then take off to catch up with the main Cobra column at the nuclear power plant. As Gung-Ho, Hawk and Rock 'n' Roll secure pumping station #1.
The specialist has stolen plutonium from the nuclear planet and has moved on to pumping station #2.
Some additional air support comes when Wild Bill drops another new Joe, Airborne, to help Snake-Eyes. Then he and Zap move onto pumping station #2 where the specialist has set up a plan to send the stolen plutonium through the pipeline to pumping station #3 for further extraction out of Alaska. Wild Bill is able to stop this plan, and Doc retrieves the antidote from the specialist as he escapes.
The plutonium is recovered at pumping station #3 and all the Joes are injected with the antidote, all surviving to fight another day.

This issue opens with Scarlett, Clutch and Breaker in the VAMP chasing down Cobra operatives in a van carrying MX Missile guidance chips in a van with the business front of Naja Hanna Video Corp through the streets of San Francisco. The chase continues through the streets with exchange of gunfire between the Joes and the Cobra operatives. An unsuspecting civilian, in his car, haphazardly places himself in the path of the oncoming Cobra van subsequently has his car ripped to shreds as the van then the VAMP tear right through it. After continuing the chase a few more blocks, another unsuspecting motorist falls victim to the same fate as the last. An elderly couple is arguing in their vehicle when they comment on a "backfire" which is actually gunfire as the Joes and Cobras approach them. The driver of the van realizes that the car is not going to move in time, the elderly couple bails out as the van struck them dead-on destroying both vehicles, killing all but one of the Cobra operatives, Scarface. Scarface makes a break for it after leaping from the moving van. Scarlett spots Scarface and Breaker gives chase until he finally catches up with Scarface around the corner on a pier. Scarface breaks loose striking Breaker with his briefcase. Breaker falls backward into a couple of bikers who proceed to beat the daylights out of Breaker. Scarlett and Clutch show up and Scarlett attends to Breaker as she warns the bikers to back off. Not heeding her warning, she fires a precise shot at one of the biker's earrings breaking it off, and of course, they do back away. Clutch continues to chase Scarface commenting about CC being upset about the loss of the computer chips in the exploded van. Scarface retorts asking Clutch if he really thinks that this is all about computer chips. Scarface stops, turns and fires his pistol at Clutch who takes a graze wound to his left knee. The three Joes regroup and inspect the rubble from the van explosion discovering that pieces of the crates that held the computer chips have an address for the Naja Hanna Corporation on the side, with the package going to the attention of a Senor K. Winn, in South America. Breaker comments on the oddity of having missile guidance chips hidden in video game circuits.
Meanwhile in Washington D.C., General Flagg and Hawk are meeting and comment to each other about the state of the world regarding computer chips and how spies are flocking to the Silicon Valley in search of new technology to steal. General Flagg directs a man to bring up on the computer screen a video feed from San Francisco. The video shows pieces of the packing crate the Joes had found in California. Gen. Flagg states that it had stolen computer chips in it and was on its way to South America. Hawk says that Sierra Gordo (location on packing crate) could get hostile in the near future and recommends a four-man team to check it out. Hawk selects Breaker, Stalker, Gung Ho and Snake Eyes. The soldier manning the computer station also points out that the word Naja Hanna means king cobra in Hindi.
The very next day in the town of Rio Lindo located in Sierra Gordo, Stalker and Breaker undercover track down the location of the Naja Hanna Corp.; they walk up and knock on the door while from a distance Snake Eyes and Gung Ho keep watch as backup. As the door opens up, who should answer but none other than Dr. Venom. Stalker tries to solicit some "video games" for money and Dr. Venom accepts him in. Through the binoculars Snake Eyes recognizes Dr. Venom and has a flashback of when he was in Springfield (GIJoe #10) and Dr. Venom subjected him to the brainwave scanner. Snake Eyes immediately leaps from the tree and starts toward the little town. Gung Ho, taken by surprise at Snake Eyes' actions takes off after him. As they run into town Gung Ho accidentally runs into a man wearing a serape who after falls down, is recognized as Scarface. Scarface runs away and Snake Eyes keeps Gung Ho from giving chase. Inside the house, Dr. Venom tells Stalker that he cannot sell him any video games for lack of "inventory". Stalker, not buying into it, all but gives up his cover by saying that he knows for sure that there was a shipment received there less than a month ago. Dr. Venom finds it interesting that Stalker would have that information and says that the only way Stalker could know is if he was working for Cobra of GIJoe, and Dr. Venom was sure that Stalker wasn't a Cobra employee, he snaps his fingers, which brings out Cobra troops out of the closet. Breaker and Stalker take cover behind a felled table and begin to exchange fire with the Cobras. Dr. Venom calls for a heavy machine gun, and just as the machine gunners come down the hallway, Snake Eyes leaps out a kills the gunners. Gung Ho comes in through the back door forcing Cobra to surrender. As they proceed out, Kwinn the Eskimo enters and disarms Gung Ho, Stalker and Breaker by firing his .30 cal Browning machine gun. Having chosen not to disarm Snake Eyes he comments on Snake Eyes' hesitation to shoot him due to the fact that Kwinn spared Snake Eyes' life in the arctic back in GIJoe #2, and comments on the fact that Kwinn didn't disarm Snake Eyes due to the fact that he knows that Snake Eyes' Uzi is out of ammunition. Snake Eyes surrenders his weapon.
Breaker, Stalker and Gung Ho are bound and taken to a boat. Snake Eyes is bound and placed inside the house after Dr. Venom takes revenge on him by pistol-whipping Snake Eyes. Kwinn stops Venom asking him how he questions someone who cannot speak. A Cobra troop checks Snake Eyes and says that his pulse and respirations have stopped. The house is lit on fire and the boat with their Joe prisoners departs along with Venom and Kwinn. The fire is intended to destroy the records of the Naja Hanna Corp as well as Snake Eyes. Venom reminisces about the smoke rising from an Asian temple as he watches the house burn commenting that it looked similar to the temple that Snake Eyes studied in, including studies of how to control breathing and heartbeat. Dr. Venom cries out "He Lives".
Snake Eyes, on fire, manages to kick his way out of the burning house and runs towards the water with a group of locals looking on in awe. He dives into the water, and never surfaces. On the boat Kwinn states that once the chips are loaded onto the plane his contract with Cobra will cease. At the stern of the boat, the bound Joes use the rats on the boat to chew through their ropes after having coated them with Breaker's chewing gum. Down the river, a boat sputters along only to have the operator astonished when a burned up Snake Eyes climbs aboard and commandeers his boat. Shift scenes to a Cobra bunker built on a small atoll in the middle of the river with a seaplane docked outside. Inside, the Baroness scolds Dr. Venom for not ensuring that Snake Eyes was killed. Venom boasts about the inaccessibility of the bunker claiming that no one could penetrate least not a burned up Snake Eyes, if he even survived. Only three guards were left behind to watch the Joes. Snake Eyes swims up behind the pier and takes out one of the Cobra guards. Gung Ho breaks free of his ropes and takes out the other two. Snake Eyes instructs the other Joes to take the boat and escape with the chips while he handles those in the bunker.
Inside, Dr. Venom reveals the true cargo and the true reason for the smuggling. Dr. Venom and Cobra had been developing a serum at a research station down the river to go hand in hand with the virus that was smuggled from San Francisco by Scarface. Venom comments on the consequences of mixing the serum and the virus, when Kwinn has them quiet down as Snake Eyes sneaks up immediately behind the front door. Kwinn turns and fires his .30 Cal outside the view window in the door. Kwinn sees that the Joes are escaping with the boat. Baroness and Scarface get into the seaplane and to pursue the Joes and they take the serum and virus with them. The Joes attempt to shoot down the plane but are forced to abandon ship as the Baroness drops air-to-ground missile on them and destroys the boat. As Venom exits the bunker, Snake Eyes attacks him and begins to beat him without mercy. Kwinn hesitates to help Venom as he states that now that his contract has been fulfilled, and the virus/serum are safely away, why should he help Venom who just seconds ago emerged from the bunker pointing a pistol at Kwinn's back. Baroness comments on how Dr. Venom is expendable as she turns towards the bunker and drops another bomb. Kwinn forces Snake Eyes and Dr. Venom into the bunker just seconds before it hits. The explosion leads Stalker, Gung Ho and Breaker to believe that Snake Eyes, Kwinn and Dr. Venom were killed.

In Sierra Gordo, Gung-Ho, Stalker & Breaker just witnessed a bunker that Snake-Eyes, Dr. Venom & Kwinn were in get blown away by the Baroness. In her plane, she has Scarface, a Cobra agent, who is carrying a briefcase with very high priority information for Cobra Commander. She is ordered to return to base before she can finish off the rest of the Joes.
As Gung-Ho and Breaker clear the river they were hiding in with Stalker, a crocodile attacks Stalker. He is able to kill the crocodile but not before it causes some serious damage to his leg. Gung-Ho then goes off to get help for Stalker as Breaker stays behind to protect him. Gung-Ho catches a ride to a radio station where he is able to contact Hawk at The Pit and requests extraction.
A group of local Sierra Gordo mercenaries are patrolling the forest near Stalker and Breaker. They were able to set up some defenses and are prepared for the rebels. Who are waiting to see what happens with the Joes.
In Springfield, the Baroness has arrived with Scarface, she confesses to Cobra Commander that she suspects he is hiding something. Destro explains to the Baroness that Scarface was working under a hypnotic trance, and that the briefcase he was holding contained no important information, in fact the information was intended to be captured by GI Joe and divert them away from Cobra's real goal. But since that plot failed, the back up plan of planting fake documents with a micro-dot included where the GI Joe team can discover them is successful as Breaker discovers them in Sierra Gordo.
Hawk receives the message from Gung-Ho, and gathers a team to go rescue them. That team of Scarlett, Grunt, Rock 'n' Roll with Hawk as the pilot, parachute into the airport to control the runaway for an escape. Doc and Torpedo are dropped into the area where the bunker that Snake-Eyes is in used to be. Scarlett is informed that Snake-Eyes is killed.
Torpedo dives into the river to discover the bunker that Snake-Eyes is in is still intact, he knocks on the door, but is diverted by Doc to join up with the rest of the team. Gung-Ho has returned just in time to save Stalker and Breaker from the approaching mercenaries. They all jump on with Gung-Ho who then takes the team to the airport.
At the airport, Scarlett, Rock 'n' Roll & Grunt have secured the control tower and hold the landing strip. As additional mercenaries head to the airport, Gung-Ho driving the rest of the team to their extraction point, collects Scarlett and her team. Hawk who has been circling in a plane, lands to pick up the entire Joe team, missing one member, Snake-Eyes. The Joes now have new documents (fake ones) about Cobra.
At the bottom of the river inside the bunker, someone is tapping in response to Torpedo's knocking.

Snake Eyes, Kwinn and Dr. Venom are still trapped in the under-water bunker in Sierra Gordo. They soon realize that although they don't trust each other, if they don't work together, none of them will get out alive. In G.I. Joe Headquarters, the Joes have been studying the micro-dot map Stalker found in Sierra Gordo. It turns out to be a map to Springfield, Vermont, a name that keeps popping up in dealings with Cobra. Hawk suspects it could be the Cobra home base.
In Cobra Headquarters, Destro reveals that he had Scar-face make sure that the Joes received the micro-dot map. It is all part of Destro's ploy to have the Commander captured, and then take his place as leader of Cobra.
In Sierra Gordo, Kwinn gets the bunker door open, only to bashed in the head by Dr. Venom and left for dead. Venom and Snake Eyes are soon captured by abandoned Cobra troops. The Joe team jumps into the A.P.C. and heads up to Springfield. Cobra Commander and the Baroness arrive at Arbco Furniture Company, a disguised Cobra laboratory outside of Springfield, to run their tests with Dr. Venom's secret plague toxin. Upon learning the Baroness is with Cobra Commander, Destro panics and realizes that he must save her from the Joes. Much to Scar-face's confusion, he takes a group of Cobra airborne troopers to stop the Joe team before they reach Springfield.
Destro arrives just in time to attack the Joes, Cobra Commander and the Baroness escape in their rocket plane, and Ace destroys Arbco Furniture with his Skystriker. The Joe team didn't accomplish much, and Dr. Venom has a last laugh knowing that the secret toxin Cobra has is worthless to them.

In Sierra Gordo, Dr. Venom & Snake-Eyes have escaped from the underwater bunker they were trapped in. The Eskimo, Kwinn, was left behind in the bunker. Dr. Venom & Snake-Eyes are currently at the rivers edge being held at gun point by a group of mercenaries. As they talk about what to do with Venom & Snake-Eyes, Kwinn rises up from the water to kill all the mercenaries. The uneasy truce between the three enemies is forced to continue until they get out of Sierra Gordo.
At the Sierra Gordo airport, they discover a WW II Lancaster bomber which Dr. Venom can fly. They sneak onto the plane, but as soon as it starts up the airport's mercenaries start to attack and in order to stop them from taking off. After a dramatic take off, in which they lose there landing gear, they head for Florida.
On the plane, Dr. Venom is able to send a Morse coded message to Cobra Headquarters in Springfield. Informing them that he is alive, and on his way to Miami, Florida. He sends this message without Snake-Eyes or Kwinn knowing about it. A Spitfire fighter catches up to them and attacks, in a crazy diving move, the bomber is able to cause the fighter to crash into the ground.
Just after this battle, Dr. Venom almost kills Snake-Eyes by dropping him out of the bomber doors, Kwinn saves Snake-Eyes life. Kwinn is then about to kill Dr. Venom when Snake-Eyes stays his hand. Venom is needed to continue to fly the plane, which is now leaking fuel.
In Springfield, Cobra Commander is informed that Dr. Venom is still alive. In a private moment away from Cobra Commander, Destro expresses his love for the Baroness. In that same conversation he explains his plot to get Cobra Commander captured and take control of Cobra but it hasn't played out as he expected. The Baroness returns his affection but not his love, and refuses to betray the Commander. Meanwhile, Cobra Commander has brought in Major Bludd to help settle the Destro situation.
Back on the Lancaster bomber, Dr. Venom has flown them to Miami Beach, where they crash land. They are all immediately arrested by the local police. Cobra lawyers are waiting at the jail to release Dr. Venom. Snake-Eyes and Kwinn are left behind to rot in jail.

At a GI Joe training exercise, Cover Girl and Tripwire are introduced as the newest Joes, as well as the new missile tank, Wolverine.
At a Cobra dinner, Cobra Commander introduces Major Bludd. Present at the dinner are Destro, Baroness, Dr. Venom and Scarface. Each has their own plan for Cobra as an organization. Destro wants to take over just to prove his love to the Baroness. The Baroness is trying to take advantage of any opportunity that comes her way. Dr. Venom is determined to finish his plague toxin which will cause lots of death. Major Bludd's hired to kill Destro by Cobra Commander. And finally Scarface, who is also in the middle, just wants to get out.
The Joes have figured out Cobra's next plan, that plan is to poison America's money at the US Treasury, by inserting a plague toxin into the ink used to print America's dollar bills. This toxin will kill anyone who touches these bills, millions could die. Hawk tells General Flagg this plan but Flagg has received different information. His information says that Cobra is going to attack the US Capitol, not the US Treasury. The regular military are going to be protecting the US Capitol, and the Joes are left to guard the US Treasury.
As Cobra begins its assault on Washington DC with an apparent air assault, General Flagg calls for all the forces to defend the Capitol. Over at the Treasury, several 18 wheelers pull up. These trucks hold Cobra's high command and additional HISS tanks which are used to attack the Treasury. GI Joe has several members stationed around the Treasury, including Cover Girl and her Wolverine which is hidden inside a garbage truck. Scarface and Dr. Venom with a small force are sent inside the Treasury to put the plague toxin into the ink.
Over at the Capitol, Cobra's air assault turns out to be a fake planes and parachutes. Hawk leaves the Capitol to head to the Treasury where the real assault is happening.
As the battle outside the Treasury heats up. Cobra Commander drives as Destro operates the turret of one HISS tank, and the Baroness drives another with Major Bludd on her HISS tank's turret.
Inside the Treasury, Gung-Ho, Tripwire and Torpedo are fighting Dr. Venom's squad. Dr. Venom places the toxin in the ink and then sets a charge to blow up part of the Treasury as a cover up. As Dr. Venom is escaping he shoots his own men and knocks out Scarface. Gung-Ho goes to secure Scarface who frees himself and runs off, later that night to get on a bus to Coney Island. Tripwire is able to disarm the bomb. The Joe team is able to stop the ink from infecting the bills. Cobra Commander's tank busts through the wall and collects Dr. Venom.
With support from Wild Bill and Airbourne in the Dragonfly helicopter, the Wolverine has been able to take out several HISS tanks. As Cobra Commander and the Baroness drive there tanks parallel to each other in an attempt to destroy the Wolverine. Cobra Commander orders Major Bludd to turn his turret and shoot Destro. The Baroness sees that Major Bludd has now targeted Destro, and in order to save him she crashes the HISS tank she is driving. Major Bludd is able to escape but the Baroness is trapped in the tank as it explodes.
Back on Cobra Commander's tank, he is able to destroy the Wolverine and begins his escape. Destro has just seen his love blown up in a tank. His will to fight is gone. Dr. Venom starts driving and Cobra Commander takes over the turret from Destro. Hawk, Clutch and Scarlett arrive from the Capitol just as the Commander is getting away. Hawk jumps on the HISS tank, he and Destro start fist fighting and Cobra Commander pulls his gun. The Commander has a few moments to decide who he should shoot, Hawk or Destro. He chooses Hawk, and then shoots him three times in the back. Scarlett and Clutch rush to Hawk to see if he is alive.

In Washington DC: Hawk, who has just been shot in the back by Cobra Commander, was wearing a bullet proof vest. His injuries are still pretty severe but he will live. He is loaded onto the Dragonfly helicopter and flown to the nearest hospital.
On the outskirts of Washington DC, Cobra Commander, Dr. Venom and a very distraught Destro are making there escape. Cobra Commander talks to Destro about how the Baroness died. He says that Major Bludd was attempting to kill Destro because he also wanted to win the affections of the Baroness. The truth is that Cobra Commander ordered Major to Bludd to kill Destro, and the Baroness saved his life. Destro believes the Commander's lie and swears to get revenge on Major Bludd.
A small Joe team, lead by Zap, are in pursuit of the Commander's tank with, the new Joe, Ace giving air support in the Sky-Striker.
In Miami, Snake-Eyes and Kwinn have been sitting in jail. Kwinn pulls out a saw that is hidden in the heel of his boot. He is then able to saw through the jails bars and escape with Snake-Eyes. After winning some money and car, Snake-Eyes and Kwinn head to Coney Island to find Scarface. Scarface knows the location of Cobra's headquarters, and that is where they can find Dr. Venom.
On a bus heading out of Washington DC to New York City, Scarface is going to Coney Island. Major Bludd, who has escaped the battle at the Treasury, hijacks the same bus. Stalker and Grand Slam spot Major Bludd on the bus. A shoot out begins between them and Bludd, Scarface stays hidden in his seat, unknown to Major Bludd. Grand Slam gets on board by dramatically busting through the front window. As they are fighting, Bludd sees Scarface sitting in his seat, Grand Slam is able to get the upper hand and knock out Major Bludd, not noticing Scarface.
Back on Cobra Commander's HISS tank, Cobra air support has shown up. Several Fang helicopters, jet fighters and a large transport helicopter come to the rescue. Zap's team is able to take out the Fang's but the Commander, still in his tank, is able to be taken away by the transport helicopter. Ace has an air battle with the Cobra jets; he is able to take two of them out before being hit and having to limp back to the airfield.
At the same hospital that Hawk is at, Major Bludd is brought in by Stalker and Grand Slam. A doctor rushes him in to the emergency room and prevents them from following. The doctor is actually a Cobra agent. As Bludd tries to escape, Hawk, still banged, captures him again. An announcement is made over the speaker that a woman with third degree burns over 80% of her body as just been brought in, this woman is the Baroness. The doctor then calls Cobra Commander and informs him that Hawk is alive, Major Bludd has been captured and that the Baroness is alive.
The Commander then informs Destro about Hawk and Major Bludd, but doesn't tell him about the Baroness. Destro so he can get revenge on Major Bludd, who is now being taken to Joe headquarters, needs to find Scarface. He knows Scarface's hide out is in Coney Island.

The Joes, Destro, and Snake Eyes and Kwinn all head for Coney Island looking for one thing: Scarface. The Joes think it may be a Cobra trap, but a letter from Snake Eyes reassures them that it's not. He'll meet them there. Snake Eyes and Kwinn get there first. All Kwinn wants is to know where Dr. Venom is. Scarface gives him the information, and then Kwinn lets him go. Destro and the Joes fight it out trying to get to Scarface, and Snake Eyes and Kwinn vanish. A car-chase ensues, with Scarface driving a pink Cadillac, Destro driving an ice-cream truck and the Joes in their A.P.C.. Destro captures Scarface, high-jacks a plane and takes off for Libya. The Joes soon follow in their cargo plane.
In Libya, Destro brings Scarface to Dr. Venom, who injects him with his secret time-bomb plague toxin. The Cobra leaders secretly want the Joes to now capture Scarface and take him to their headquarters, where they hope the plague will kill off all of the Joes. In the desert, the Joes find a Cobra vehicle convoy and sneak into it on their V.A.M.P. through a giant cloud of dust. They find Scarface on a H.I.S.S. tank and grab him. After a small skirmish, the Joes escape thinking that they have won, now that they have Scarface. Cobra has no problems with that.

Scar-face warns the Joes of the plague toxin that he is infected with. Hawk believes him, but understands the Cobra plan is more than it seems. Their plan isn't to just wipe out the Joe team with the plague, but to see where in the country an emergency quarantine will take place. That would reveal to them the location of Joe headquarters. Hawk orders the construction of the Joe pre-fab fortress on the surface in the motor pool garage, above the PIT. The prisoners Major Bludd and the Baroness are moved to the surface base. Fake security procedures and quarantine start. The chaplain's assistants are bussed off to California. Cobra sees these procedures happen, and believe they have found Joe headquarters.
As this happens, Snake Eyes and Kwinn find Dr. Venom in his private lab. Before Kwinn can kill him, Cobra arrives and tries to rescue him. Snake Eyes finds S.N.A.K.E. body armor and sees it as the only way to stand up to a swarm of attacking Cobra troops. He puts a suit on, but doesn't realize that it has a mind control function built into it. Snake Eyes unwillingly knocks out Kwinn, and the battle is over.
The Cobra attack force flies towards Joe headquarters, fires missiles, and blows up the motor pool garage. As the smoke clears, the Joe pre-fab fortress is revealed, and the Cobra's are thrilled at finding Joe headquarters. The Joes send out the P.A.C./R.A.T.S. against the H.I.S.S. tanks. Dr. Venom sends in Snake Eyes and Kwinn, both in S.N.A.K.E. armor, to wipe out the P.A.C./R.A.T.S. Kwinn is shot free of his armor, and runs back to kill Dr. Venom. Major Bludd breaks out of his cell, kills General Flagg, escapes with the Baroness and leaves Scar face to die in the Joe base. Before Kwinn can shove a grenade down Venom's throat, he realizes he is doing an evil act of the weasel, and lets him go. Venom shoots Kwinn in the back, and Kwinn drops the grenade he was carrying, which blows up at Dr. Venom's feet. The Cobra's destroy the Joe fortress, and leave thinking they have won, although they never found the PIT.

The story starts out with a bunch of Joes training in a field camp. Clutch is in the lead, because he knows as soon as he's done, he gets to go home for a week's vacation. Even being late for the bus to New Jersey won't stop him: he stops the VAMP right in front of it! When he reaches his home town, his old high school friend Billy Kline picks him up and offers him a stay at his experimental engine factory. The Joe happily accepts, but soon overhears Billy fighting with someone. Feeling concern, Clutch secretly follows Billy to a top secret room in the factory, and runs into Cobra troops! After defeating a few of them, he attempts to rescue Billy, who betrays Clutch and knocks him out.
Clutch awakens later as a prisoner of Cobra. Billy explains that he has to work for Cobra because they are holding his family hostage. The Cobra officer in charge straps an experimental compact jetpack onto the tied-up Clutch and flies him off to his potential demise. Little did he know, the regretful Billy slipped Clutch a knife, which the Joe uses to cut himself free. He later finds an old shop teacher and borrows a heavily armored car from him. He uses this car to crash into Billy's house and rescue his family.
Clutch calls the Joe team in to attack the factory. They easily sneak in, but the Cobra officer escapes with a jetpack. Clutch straps on another jetpack, and after a high-speed dogfight, defeats the Cobra, sending him to a explosive death. After all is said and done, Clutch realizes that he's had all the rest and relaxation that he can stand!
